Nature:  Welo opals from Ethiopia have some of the most vibrant colors. They are a newer discovery to the gemstone world but are no less exciting.  Welo opals most often form as nodules with a clay coating or ring on the outside and the fiery gem on the inside.  The fire in opal is cause by light that is refracted off of mircoscopic plains of water hydropsheres trapped inside the imperfect arrangements of the silica stone.  Depending on the average thickness of these little hydropsheres, the width of the plains will vary: widest plains, a longer light spectrum light- red color; medium width plains- oranges, yellows, or greens; and the smallest width plains- blues and violets.  Combined, they can make and incredible amazing dance of light or "fire."  Some opals only have some of these colors, while ones like these have it all.

Our stones are carefully selected and cut for best representation  for the uniqueness of value of the natural stones and our silversmithing craftsmanship (sterling silver) are design to compliment our product for the best enhancement and wearability of the individual.
